5.0 From 25 Google reviewsRefits and upgrades, managed through to handover
Marine Solutions Australia manages vessel refits, upgrades and system installations from Gold Coast City Marina, Coomera. One project manager scopes and quotes the work, coordinates trades, parts, slipway bookings and haul-out through the GCCM shipyard, and reports progress against agreed milestones through to commissioning and sea trial. Because most of the work, repowers, electronics and electrical, hydraulics, plumbing and sanitation and marine air conditioning, is carried out by MSA’s own engineers, there are fewer hand-offs, fewer delays and one point of accountability. As an authorised dealer for Northern Lights, Spot Zero, Muir, Sleipner Side-Power, Zipwake, Frigomar and Kova, installations are done to manufacturer specification with warranty compliance and full documentation. To scope a project, call 07 5612 7161 or email sales@marinesolutions.au.
Scoped, coordinated and documented
Refits & Upgrades
Complete vessel refurbishment and modernisation services. We manage every aspect of your refit project from initial planning through to sea trials, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum value.
Logistics & Trades
Coordinating all marine trades, parts procurement and delivery schedules. We book qualified tradespeople from our established network and sequence trades and parts around the project plan and the vessel's haul-out dates.
Professional Installations
Professional installations for Sleipner, Zipwake and all major marine brands. Every installation meets manufacturer specifications with full warranty compliance and certification.
Project Planning
Detailed project scoping, budgeting and timeline development. Each project plan includes clear pricing, milestone tracking and regular progress updates.
Haul-Out Coordination
Managing slipway bookings, hardstand operations and marina logistics. We coordinate with marinas across the Gold Coast and beyond to minimise vessel downtime and optimise workflow.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensuring all work meets maritime regulations and insurance requirements. Complete documentation, certification management and liaison with surveyors, insurers and regulatory bodies.
How a managed vessel project runs
Six stages, agreed up front, so you always know where the project sits, what happens next and what it costs.
Scope & survey
We inspect the vessel with you, define what the project covers (and what it doesn't), and identify anything that affects sequencing, survey requirements, insurance sign-offs, haul-out needs.
Plan & quote
You get a written project plan: transparent pricing, timeline, defined milestones and the trades involved. Nothing starts until the plan is agreed.
Schedule trades & haul-out
Parts are procured, MSA engineers and any specialist trades are booked, and slipway or hardstand time is reserved through the GCCM shipyard so work packages line up.
Execute & report
Work proceeds against the milestones, with regular progress updates. Variations are priced and approved before they happen, not discovered on the invoice.
Commission & sea trial
Systems are commissioned to manufacturer specification, then proven under way. Repowers, thrusters, stabilisers and generators are signed off on the water, not the dock.
Handover & documentation
You receive the completed vessel with certification, compliance paperwork, warranty documentation and service baselines for everything installed.
Planning a refit, upgrade or major install?
Bring us the outcome you want; the scope, the price and the schedule come back in writing before any work is booked.
The trades behind the project
Most refit work packages are delivered by MSA's own engineering teams, the same people who scope the project do the work.
Repower & Engine Replacement
Inboard diesel and outboard repowers, power-matched, installed, aligned and sea-trialled.
Generators
Northern Lights generator supply, installation and servicing as part of a refit power package.
Electronics & Electrical
Navigation suites, Starlink, rewiring, lithium conversions and switchboards by licensed marine electricians.
Thrusters & Stabilisers
Sleipner thrusters, fin and gyro stabilisers and Zipwake interceptors, sized, fitted and commissioned.
Hydraulics
Steering, deck machinery, davits and swim platforms, hydraulic packages built and rebuilt in-house.
Water Systems
Spot Zero watermakers and water-treatment systems integrated into the refit plan.
Plumbing & Sanitation
Marine toilets, holding tanks, seacocks and below-waterline work scheduled into haul-out windows.
Anchoring & Deck Machinery
Muir anchor winches and windlasses supplied, installed and load-tested.
Insurance Rebuilds
Damage assessments and approved repairs managed directly with your insurer as a managed project.
See how this comes together on real vessels in our completed projects, or the full engineering services scope. At the top end, the same managed approach covers superyacht repair and refit , see the raw-water and sea-strainer overhaul delivered inside a two-week hardstand window, and the Evac sanitation pump rebuild run in parallel with a global parts search so the vessel kept her cruising schedule.
Trailer boats to superyachts
Refits, upgrades and installations on cruisers, sport-fishers, sailing yachts, commercial vessels and superyachts, with haul-out and shipyard access on site, in a precinct of more than 90 marine businesses.

Vessel project management, common questions
What's included, who does the work, haul-out, quotes and coverage.
What does vessel project management include?
Everything between "we want this done" and handover: scoping and specification, a transparent plan and quote, trade and parts coordination, slipway and haul-out bookings, compliance documentation, and milestone updates through to commissioning and sea trial. You deal with one manager rather than chasing individual trades.
What kinds of vessel projects do you manage?
Refits and modernisations, engine repowers, navigation and electronics upgrades, thruster and stabiliser installations, generator and watermaker installations, air conditioning, plumbing and sanitation overhauls, and insurance rebuilds, on vessels from trailer boats to superyachts.
Do you use your own engineers or subcontractors?
Most of the work is done in-house, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, plumbing and air conditioning are all MSA trades. Specialist work such as shipwright, paint or upholstery is coordinated through our established network at Gold Coast City Marina, under our management and to the same documented standard.
Can you manage haul-out and hardstand work?
Yes. We book slipway and hardstand time through the Gold Coast City Marina shipyard, schedule below-waterline work (seacocks, shafts, thrusters, anodes, antifoul) into the same window, and coordinate relaunch and sea trial, so the vessel comes out once, not repeatedly.
How do project quotes work?
We scope the project with you first, then provide a plan with transparent pricing, a timeline and defined milestones before work starts. Call 07 5612 7161 or email sales@marinesolutions.au with your vessel and what you want done.
Where do you manage vessel projects?
From our base at Shop 34, 76-84 Waterway Drive, Gold Coast City Marina, Coomera QLD 4209, with projects delivered on vessels across the Gold Coast, Queensland and New South Wales, supported by mobile engineering teams.
