Insurance Repairs & Assessments
We have carried out insurance repairs and assessments for vessels covered by Nautilus Marine, Club Marine and Pantaenius, much of it referred to us by marine assessors and brokers. Each claim starts with a photo-documented assessment and an itemised repair scope, and we liaise directly with the insurer, surveyor and loss adjustor.

Hydraulic Davit Crane Refurbishment & Load Test, Motor Yacht
A Besenzoni hydraulic davit crane came off a motor yacht for a full refurbishment during her refit: stripped to components, five cylinders, the slewing swivel and the power unit overhauled and pressure-tested, the hoses condition-reported and renewed, the structure repainted, then rebuilt in our Coomera workshop, craned back aboard at The Boat Works and load-tested to its 600 kg plate rating before sign-off.
Twin Muir Windlass Overhaul & Seized Shaft Recovery, Classic Sailing Yacht
Both Muir anchor windlasses on a classic sailing yacht came off for overhaul, and the starboard main shaft refused to leave its gearbox. Heat, a hydraulic power pack and a jack all failed, so we cut a controlled access hatch in the chain locker, lowered the assembly out whole and pressed it apart in the workshop. Both gearboxes were stripped and rebuilt on new Muir shafts, bearings and seals, the corroded housings blasted, primed and painted, and the windlasses refitted, greased and proven on deck.
Shaft Seals, Cutlass Bearings & Engine Service, 14m Trawler-Style Motor Yacht
A main engine and gearbox service on a trawler-style motor yacht, booked while she was out of the water for antifouling. A look over the running gear turned it into a bigger job: both propeller shafts out, two new PSS shaft seals, four new cutlass bearings and, found on the bench during the service, two raw water pumps with failed seals and bearings. She goes back in the water with the lot renewed.
