Marine Solutions Australia installs Starlink hardware on recreational, commercial and superyacht vessels from Gold Coast City Marina, Coomera. You purchase the kit and service plan directly from Starlink, we advise which dish and plan suit your vessel, then handle the marine installation: mounting, cable routing and weatherproofing, 12/24V power integration and onboard wifi, commissioned and tested at the berth.
A Starlink kit is built for a house roof, not a boat. On the water it needs a mount that holds in sea state, cable runs that keep water out of the vessel, a sensible answer to 240V power draw at anchor, and a network the whole boat can use. That work is marine electrical work, done here by the same licensed marine electricians who handle navigation electronics, rewiring and lithium systems every day.
Most installs are completed dockside by our mobile vans across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland; larger vessels and superyacht fit-outs are supported Australia-wide. Every job is quoted to the vessel, tested, documented and signed off.
The difference between mounted and marine-grade
The forums are full of Starlink installs held on with cable ties, cables pinched through hatches and inverters left running around the clock. It works, until the first real blow, the first leak into a headliner, or the morning the house bank is flat. We mount the dish to handle the sea, seal every deck penetration properly, convert the power to run from your batteries, and leave you a documented install that will still be working in five years.

Buy the right dish, before you buy the wrong one
You order the hardware and service plan directly from Starlink; we install it. Tell us your vessel and cruising plans first and we'll confirm exactly which kit and plan to order, then we handle everything after the box arrives.
Starlink Mini
Compact, low-draw and easily removable, suits trailer boats, smaller cruisers and owners who want the dish stowed between trips. Pairs well with a simple rail mount and 12V supply.
Standard (Gen 3)
The mainstream choice for cruisers and flybridge boats, more throughput than the Mini, happy on a fixed flat or pole mount with the motors disabled, and well suited to a permanent DC-powered install.
Flat High Performance
The in-motion, wide-view dish for vessels that work offshore, superyachts, commercial operators and serious passage-makers running maritime service plans. A structured install, done properly.
Service plans matter as much as the dish: coastal cruising, offshore passages and commercial maritime use sit on different plans with different coverage, and Starlink revises them from time to time. Current hardware and plan pricing is published at starlink.com , we'll confirm the right combination for your boat when we spec the install, and configure the plan as part of commissioning.
What a marine Starlink install covers
From the mount to the network, every part of the job is done to the standard the rest of your vessel's electrical system deserves, and quoted to your boat, not from a rate card.
Marine-grade Mounting
Rail, pole and flat mounts matched to your vessel and dish, positioned for clear sky view, fixed to handle sea state and salt air, and removable where you want the dish off the boat between trips.
Cable Routing & Weatherproofing
Cable runs through decks and bulkheads done with proper glands and sealing, not a cable pinched in a hatch. Tidy, chafe-protected routing that keeps the water out and survives the marine environment.
12/24V DC Power Integration
Run the dish from the house bank through a DC-DC supply instead of leaving an inverter on at anchor, wired into your DC distribution by licensed marine electricians.
Onboard Wifi & Networks
Vessel-wide wifi, routers and access points so phones, MFDs, crew and guests all share the connection, no dead spots between the flybridge and the engine room.
Cellular Failover
4G/5G routers, external antennas and automatic switching between Starlink, cellular and marina wifi, the boat always picks the best available link without you fiddling.
Commissioning & Configuration
App setup, motor-disable for flat mounts, plan configuration for your cruising area and a full working handover, tested at the berth before we sign it off.
Starlink work often pairs naturally with a helm electronics upgrade, a lithium or battery-system upgrade, or wider rewiring while the panels are already open, and if it's part of a bigger fit-out, our refit and project management team can fold it into the plan.
Thinking about Starlink for your boat?
A short call settles which kit to order before you spend anything. The install is then quoted in writing to your vessel.
Starlink for superyachts, marine installs Australia-wide
Larger vessels bring larger requirements, Flat High Performance hardware for in-motion offshore use, maritime service plans, redundant links, and integration with existing AV, IT and monitoring systems. We plan the dish placement, cable paths and power supply around the vessel's structure and schedule, and deliver the documented, insurance-grade workmanship superyacht owners and managers expect.
For charter and commercial operators, guest and crew connectivity is an operational system rather than a luxury. We build it with failover, coverage through the vessel and a handover your crew can actually run. Superyacht and refit work is supported Australia-wide from our Gold Coast City Marina base.
From enquiry to online, four steps

Starlink on boats, common questions
Which kit to buy, what an install costs, offshore coverage and plans, 12/24V power conversion, and integrating Starlink with the wifi and electronics already on board.
Can you install Starlink on my boat?
Yes. Marine Starlink installation is one of our fastest-growing services. Before you buy, we will confirm which kit suits your vessel. Once it arrives, we handle the marine-grade mounting, cable routing, weatherproofing, 12 or 24 volt power integration and onboard wifi network. We use the same installation standards on flybridge cruisers and superyachts, with mounts and wiring made for the marine environment.
Do you sell Starlink hardware?
No. We are an independent installer with no affiliation to Starlink or SpaceX. You buy the kit and service plan directly from Starlink, which keeps the hardware at Starlink's retail price and the account in your name. Our quote covers the marine installation: mounting, cabling, weatherproofing, power and network integration. Before you order, we will confirm which dish and plan suit your vessel and cruising area.
How much does it cost to install Starlink on a boat?
Installation is quoted to the vessel because the work varies widely. A Mini on a rail mount with a 12 volt supply is a much smaller job than routing cable through a superyacht and integrating the dish with an existing network. The main drivers are the mounting, the cable run, whether we are converting the dish to DC power, and how the connection ties into onboard wifi. You purchase the hardware and service plan directly from Starlink at its published pricing. Call 07 5612 7161 with your vessel and the kit you have or are considering, and we will quote the installation.
Does Starlink work offshore, and which plan do I need?
Starlink works well at the dock, at anchor and in coastal waters on the roaming plans most boat owners use, and offshore coverage depends on the plan, going beyond coastal waters needs a plan with ocean coverage, and vessels working far offshore typically run the maritime service tiers on Flat High Performance hardware. Plan details and pricing are published by Starlink and change from time to time, so we will confirm the right plan for your cruising area when we spec the install, and configure it as part of commissioning.
Can you run Starlink from 12V or 24V without an inverter?
Yes. For many boats, direct DC power is a worthwhile Starlink upgrade. Standard kits expect a 240 volt supply, which means running an inverter just to keep the connection online. Our licensed marine electricians can connect the system to a 12 or 24 volt house bank through a suitable DC-DC supply. This reduces power use at anchor, removes the inverter dependency and helps prevent voltage drop under load.
Can you integrate Starlink with the wifi and electronics already on board?
Yes. A dish on a mount is only half the job, the value is a connection the whole vessel can use. We build or extend the onboard network so Starlink feeds your existing wifi, MFDs and monitoring gear, add access points where coverage is thin, and set up automatic failover between Starlink, cellular and marina wifi so the boat always uses the best available link. We install and service the major marine electronics brands, so the integration is done once and done properly.
