The Story

Built by an engineer, run by engineers

Marine Solutions Australia was founded in March 2022 by Stewart Humphries, an engineer with 25 years across electrical, mechanical and marine work. It has been engineering-led from the first job: real diagnosis before parts, written quotes before work, and commissioning and sea trials before handover.

Today the team works from a workshop and showroom at Gold Coast City Marina, Coomera, with mobile service vans across South East Queensland and superyacht and refit projects Australia-wide. MSA is an authorised Australian dealer for Northern Lights generators, Spot Zero watermakers and Muir deck machinery, Sleipner Side-Power thrusters, Zipwake trim control, Frigomar air conditioning and Kova pumps, and services every major marine brand already aboard.

Stewart Humphries

Founder & Managing Director

Stewart founded Marine Solutions Australia in 2022 after 25 years working on machinery that has to work: a licensed electrician first, then a fitter and turner through chemical manufacturing, heavy industry and remote mine sites across Australia, PNG and New Zealand, and later leading ride engineering teams at Dreamworld and Warner Bros. Movie World, where a rebuild is only finished when the public can ride it safely. He holds a Diploma of Mechanical Engineering and current AMSA commercial maritime qualifications. He still scopes and quotes the complex jobs himself, and leads the engineering through to commissioning and sea trials.

He also backs up the sales counter, so the person who specifies your equipment is one of the people who fits it.

Megan Milford

Operational Administration & Travel Logistics Coordination

Megan brings over 15 years of maritime operations and administration to MSA. She began in luxury yachting, where presentation and high service standards are the job, then ran the office of a vessel management business, coordinating refits, repairs and deliveries between owners, crew and contractors. Most recently she spent almost nine years running the operations of a four-vessel Port Douglas expedition business: bookings, vessel scheduling, crew coordination, remote-area logistics and the accounts. At MSA she manages client relationships, equipment distribution and company assets. For vessel owners, managers and trade clients she is often the first point of contact, and she keeps a job moving from the first enquiry through parts, scheduling and handover.

Matthew Johnson

Digital & Marketing Manager

Matthew holds a double degree in database and software development and spent the last twenty years with digital marketing agencies around the Gold Coast, in roles spanning sales, design, support, senior software development and hosting and infrastructure leadership. He joined MSA to bring that full digital stack to a single industry, marine. He runs MSA's digital presence: the website and its code, photography, search, social and email. He works from the same building as the engineers, so what gets published reflects the jobs actually on the workshop floor that week.

How We Work

The same rules on every job

A written quote first

Every job is quoted in writing before work begins. No prices on the website because no two vessels are the same; the quote is for yours.

Commissioned and documented

Installations and repairs are tested, commissioned and recorded, so the work stands up to a surveyor, an insurer and the next owner.

All brands serviced

We service what is already aboard, whether or not we sold it, and we recommend what suits the vessel rather than what we are tied to.
